Thrive Pecan Special 18-0-0

General Information

THRIVE® PECAN SPECIAL 18-0-0 is a complete zinc foliar fertilizer formulation for use on all nut crops including pecans. THRIVE® PECAN SPECIAL 18-0-0 is formulated with a high nitrogen/zinc ratio to provide better foliar zinc absorption. THRIVE® PECAN SPECIAL 18-0-0 is formulated using the highest quality materials for optimum solubility and maximum performance.

General Application

Apply 3 to 10 pounds of THRIVE® PECAN SPECIAL 18-0-0 per acre. Rates should be based on soil tests, tissue analysis and local growing conditions. Split applications are more efficient than a single application.

Mix 4-6 pounds of THRIVE® PECAN SPECIAL 18-0-0 per 100 gallons of water for the spray mixture. Premix the THRIVE® PECAN SPECIAL 18-0-0 in a 5-gallon can with 3 gallons or so before putting into a spray tank.

Because young leaves on the ends of shoots favor zinc absorption, the treatments should be applied in the early part of the season. Spray programs should start soon after budbreak, can continue at regular intervals (two to three weeks apart) until shoot and leaf expansion slows or stops.

In mature trees, about four sprays are needed with the first spray at leaf burst (when leaves are unfolding), second spray 7 days after first spray, third spray 14 days after second spray, and fourth spray, 14-21 days after third spray. New flushes of growth should receive a zinc spray.

In young trees, follow the same schedule as recommended for mature trees but continue to spray ever two weeks until the end of July (young trees continue to grow and new foliage needs zinc).

Timing and frequency of zinc applications depends on the tree age, degree of deficiency and other local conditions. Consult your local crop adviser for recommendations.

As with all sprays (Thrive Pecan Special 18-0-0 included), treatment during pollution is discouraged unless recommended by our local crop adviser.
